Re:
I would like to bring to your attention a copyright violation of intellectual property belonging to Thinkbox Interactive LLC. I am providing the details you have requested as per the document http://www.google.com/dmca.html 1 The copyrighted work at issue is the text that appears on the web site www.infobeagle.com. The person in question has taken the entire site content including web pages, supporting JavaScript files and cascading style sheets from the infobeagle.com web site and made very minor cosmetic changes an published the work. It is a blatant duplication of an entire collection of copyrighted work from source code, content, look and feel etc. This work is the copyrighted intellectual property of: In addition, it is important to point out the site has duplicated Intellectual property belonging to Microsoft Inc. by creating a logo with a similar look and feel as Microsoft's MSN product. It is my intention to bring this violation to the attention of MSN as well. Feel free to contact me at the following email address The contact for the domain owner as listed via whois is as follows Registrant: Administrative Contact: Email: This person is also an Adsense publisher so it should be possible to contact them via that channel: google_ad_client = "pub-0754129632493931"; I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted materials described above on the allegedly infringing web pages is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. Question: Why does a search engine get DMCA takedown notices for materials in its search listings? Answer: Many copyright claimants are making complaints under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, Section 512(d), a safe-harbor for providers of "information location tools." These safe harbors give providers immunity from liability for users' possible copyright infringement -- if they "expeditiously" remove material when they get complaints. Whether or not the provider would have been liable for infringement by users' materials it links to, the provider can avoid the possibility of a lawsuit for money damages by following the DMCA's takedown procedure when it gets a complaint. The person whose information was removed can file a counter-notification if he or she believes the complaint was erroneous. Question: What does a service provider have to do in order to qualify for safe harbor protection?
