Chilling Effects Team, August 28, 2013

Abstract: Facebook has offered up its first Transparency Report dealing with government requests for data.

Facebook has offered up its first Transparency Report dealing with government requests for data.

Unfortunately, you have to be a logged-in Facebook member to read it.

Regardless, this is a big step forward for Facebook, which had lagged among other social network behemoths in taking this step.
Chilling Effects will be watching further developments with great interest, and sincerely hopes Facebook will see its way clear now to sharing all of the takedown notices it receives with us.
